Why youth debate?
Young people are engaged.
Often we're told rangatahi simply don't care about politics. We're here to disprove that, because the decisions that politicians make affect us all.
Young people do it better.
When young people engage, by protesting or petitioning or submitting, they do it better than the adults in the room. We listen and we act.
Young people matter.
The issues and challenges that we face as young people in Aotearoa right now are real and deserve serious attention. Our politicians need to level with us and address them.
